Varsity Hockey Names Final Two Players to Leadership Group

Regis Jesuit High School head hockey coach, Terry Ott, is happy to announce the addition of Sam Wessel and Cedar Regan to the 2026 – 2027 varsity hockey leadership group as assistant captains. They join captain Easton Sparks and assistant captains Beau Paton and Dylan Nash.

Sam Wessel is a senior at Regis Jesuit High School. This season will be Wessel’s third season as a member of the varsity team. Sam’s energy, love for his team, elite puck moving ability and willingness to sacrifice for the team by blocking shots set an example for others to follow.

Cedar Regan, also a senior at Regis Jesuit High School, is a four-year varsity player. Cedar’s consistency of play, level of compete and physicality drive our defensive habits. Regan may be a quiet leader, but he speaks loudly with his play on the ice.

Last season, Wessel scored nine (9) goals and led all defensemen with twenty-seven (27) points and was named to the CHSAA 5A Academic All-State 1st Team. Regan tallied eight (8) goals and led all defensemen in points per game average at 0.51 pts/gm and was named to the CHSAA 5A Academic All-State 1st Team.

Coach Ott had this to say, “Sam and Cedar embody what it means to be a Raider. From the moment they began their journey at Regis Jesuit, they have worked tirelessly to model the profile of a Regis Jesuit graduate at graduation."
